I LOVE Hoodoo Ski area because the prices are good and the lift lines are a lot smaller than most of the other ski places I’ve visited. The ski lodge is huge and the rental shop has skis, snowboards and snow bikes. This is a good family friendly place with a good mix of trails from easy to hard.
My favorite is Thrifty Thursdays, lift tickets are only $35!! So affordable – if my kids were doing well in school, we’d skip a school day and I treat them to skiing at Hoodoo!
The food here is great. They grind their own hamburger patties. My favorite is the beef brisket burger. Literally one of the best hamburgers I have ever had! (I don’t say things like that lightly.). If you visit the McKenzie River, you need to make sure that you eat here at least once.
This is an amazing place. Get breakfast in the lodge, rent kayak, and hike around the lake. Spend the day or stay overnight. You won’t regret it. Avoid the weekends in the summer. Spring and Fall have less crowds and the changing seasons makes it even more colorful.
This is an amazing waterfall. If you’re short on time you can hit this and Koosah Falls with a short walk from parking. Better yet, park at on of the falls, and take the waterfall loop trail to the other falls and then back again. BEST BET: If you have time, do the full waterfall loop trail.
This place is magical!
