It’s a Forest Service trailhead — a long pullout on the north side of Highway 126, about a mile and a half east of the community of McKenzie Bridge — that provides access to the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail, the 26-mile hiking and mountain-biking route that shadows the river for much of its upper run. There’s no ramp, no developed launch, and no facilities: no restrooms, no water, no picnic tables.
What it does offer is a foot-access point to the riverbank for hikers and anglers willing to walk the trail down to the water. If you’re looking for a place to put a boat in, this isn’t it — the nearest real launches are at Paradise Campground upstream and McKenzie Bridge Campground downstream.
