2020 date to be announced!
8:30am to 9pm
The premiere event of the season and a day full of free activities. Winter Carnival has been a tradition at Hoodoo for nearly 40 years and includes a number of free events (no lift ticket required): ax throwing booth, frisbee golf, musical chairs, a three-legged obstacle race, a team tube race, a hula-hoop contest, a fly-athalon, a pie eating contest, a ski javelin throw, an archery contest, a Hoodoo employee snow sculpture contest and bingo. The lifts are open 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. There’s always a special dinner menu, the Dummy Downhill contest, the annual torchlight descent and professional fireworks on the mountain.
You don’t want to miss the fan favorite Dummy Downhill contest. This activity features large figures made by Hoodoo guests. The dummies, which are attached to skis or sled runners, are sent flying down a steep course with a snow-packed jump that more often than not leads to a spectacular crash landing. You are invited to participate.
